Pet-Friendly Vacation Rentals in Sarasota and Siesta Key: What to Know
Bringing the dog? Where pets are welcome, which beaches allow dogs and how to make the trip easy for everyone.
"Pet friendly vacation rentals" is one of the most common searches for Gulf Coast trips, and for good reason: vacation is better when the whole family comes. Every BigTree home welcomes well-behaved dogs with approval.
Know the beach rules before you go. Most Sarasota County beaches, including Siesta Beach, do not allow dogs on the sand. The local exception is Brohard Paw Park in Venice, a beach set aside for dogs, where they can run and splash in the Gulf. Many restaurants with outdoor patios welcome dogs too, just ask.
A home with a private, fenced yard or screened pool area makes life easier, and so does a washer and dryer for sandy towels. Plan around the heat in summer: walk early and late, and never leave a pet in a parked car.
When you book, tell your host about your pet. At BigTree Stays that means a simple pet cleaning fee added to your stay, with no deposit. It is how we keep every home fresh and welcoming for the next family, and their pets.
