Where are BigTree Stays vacation rentals?
On Florida's sun-drenched Gulf Coast: Sweetwater and Village House on Siesta Key, Casa Azul in Gulf Gate and Sandpiper in Southgate, two of Sarasota's best-placed neighborhoods, and Cape House in Cape Coral. Each is a whole private home with its own heated pool, thoughtfully prepared by our team before every arrival.
Which home is best for a large group?
Sweetwater sleeps 12 with 5 bedrooms and 4.5 baths: three king suites with their own en-suite baths, a loft suite with two full-size bunk beds and a private sky deck, and a bunk room for the kids. Our other homes sleep 8 to 10, so compare them above, or tell us about your group and we will gladly help you choose.
Are the pools heated?
Yes. Every home has its own private heated pool, so a warm swim is waiting in any season, even on cooler winter evenings. Tell us before you arrive how warm you like it, and we will do our best to have it just right when you walk in.
Which homes have a hot tub?
Sweetwater, Village House, Casa Azul and Sandpiper have a hot tub as well as a private heated pool, perfect for unwinding under the stars after a long beach day.
Can I bring a pet?
Yes, bring the whole family! Every one of our homes welcomes well-behaved dogs, because vacation is better when no one is left behind. Tell us a little about your pup before you book so we can confirm. A pet cleaning fee is simply added to your stay, so we can give the home an extra-deep clean afterward and have it fresh for the next family. No deposit, no fuss. Ask us for nearby dog-friendly spots, too.
How far are the homes from the beach?
Close enough for sunset strolls and morning swims. Our Siesta Key homes are right on the island: Village House is a short walk to the Village and the beach, and Sweetwater is an easy bike ride, with cruiser bikes included. From Casa Azul in Gulf Gate and Sandpiper in Southgate, Siesta Key is about a 5-minute drive. From Cape House, Fort Myers Beach is about 35 minutes away.
Which airports can I fly into?
Sarasota-Bradenton International (SRQ) is the easy choice for Siesta Key, Gulf Gate and Southgate, about 20 to 25 minutes away. Tampa International (TPA) is a great option too, about an hour and 15 to 30 minutes north, often with more nonstop flights, so it is worth comparing fares. For Cape Coral, fly into Southwest Florida International (RSW), about 35 minutes away. Once you book, we are happy to share tips for getting here and where to stock up on the way in.
Why book direct instead of on Airbnb or VRBO?
Simply put, you save. Booking sites like Airbnb and VRBO add their own service fees and commissions to every reservation. When you book directly with us, there is no middleman, so none of those third-party fees are added and the savings stay in your pocket. Same beautiful home, same care, a better price.
What are check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is at 4 PM and check-out is at 11 AM. Arriving on an early flight, or hoping for one more swim before you head home? Just share your travel plans with us. Early check-in and late checkout are available whenever the calendar allows, and a small fee may apply. We will confirm the details with you as soon as we know.
What is the cancellation policy?
For stays booked directly with us, cancel 30 or more days before arrival for a full refund, or 14 to 29 days before for a 50% refund. With fewer than 14 days to go, the stay is non-refundable. The policy is also shown clearly on the booking page before you pay, so you always know where you stand. Life happens, and if your plans change, reach out to us directly. A real person on our team will walk through your options with you.
Do you offer travel insurance?
We do not sell insurance ourselves, but we are always happy to point you to the travel insurance partners we work with. It is completely optional, and many of our guests love the peace of mind. Travel insurance protects the money you have spent on your trip if life gets in the way: an illness, a family emergency, a cancelled flight or a storm. Plans differ, so compare what each one covers, and check whether your credit card already includes some trip protection. One tip from us: buy soon after you book. Florida's hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, and many plans will not cover a storm once it has been named.
