Live Music by the Bridge: Casey Key Fish House, by Boat or by Car
At the north end of Casey Key, beside the old swing bridge, a tiki bar with live music and a dock out front. One of our favorite afternoons on the water.
Some places just feel like Old Florida. Casey Key Fish House sits at the north end of Casey Key in Osprey, right beside the historic Blackburn Point swing bridge, which still swings open to let boats through. Drive over, or tie up at the dock and walk straight in from your boat.
The draw is the tiki bar. Live music plays from late afternoon into the evening on Fridays, weekends and holidays, and the crowd is a happy mix of boaters, locals and visitors in flip-flops. Order a cold drink and a fish sandwich or crab cakes, find a seat by the water and watch the boats slide under the bridge.
Arriving by water is half the fun. The restaurant has deep-water dockage on the Intracoastal near Blackburn Point Marina, and you can rent kayaks, paddleboards or a boat nearby if you did not bring your own. By car, it is about 15 to 20 minutes south of our Gulf Gate and Southgate homes.
It gets busy in season, and that is part of the charm. Go a little early, settle in and stay for the sunset.
