Lakewood Ranch: Polo, Main Street and Wide Open Spaces

East of I-75, Lakewood Ranch mixes a lively Main Street, Sunday polo in season and miles of trails.

Lakewood Ranch is a large master-planned community east of I-75, stretching across Manatee and Sarasota counties. It is regularly ranked among the best-selling master-planned communities in the country, and it is a fun change of scenery during a beach vacation.

Main Street at Lakewood Ranch is the heart of it, with restaurants, shops and regular community events like farmers markets and outdoor concerts.

In season, roughly December through April, the Sarasota Polo Club hosts Sunday polo matches. Pack a picnic, wear your sun hat and take a turn at the halftime divot stomp.

Nearby you will find the Mall at University Town Center for shopping and the Nathan Benderson Park rowing course, which hosts international regattas. Lakewood Ranch is roughly 20 to 30 minutes from our Sarasota homes.
