A Siesta Beach Day With Little Kids

Lifeguards, a playground, a gentle slope into the water and sand that stays cool. Siesta Beach might be the easiest beach day you will ever have with toddlers.

Siesta Beach is wonderful for small children. The sand is soft and cool, the water usually deepens gradually, and lifeguard stands are spread along the main public beach.

The beach park has restrooms, outdoor showers, a playground, picnic areas and a snack bar, so you are never far from the basics. Volleyball courts and wide-open sand leave room for big kids to run.

Our favorite rhythm with toddlers: arrive early while it is cool, set up near a lifeguard stand, dig and splash until late morning, then head home for lunch, naps and the pool. Come back for an hour at sunset when the light is golden and the sand is empty.
